Circular Silicon

Research

Research Projects

Circular Silicon works on research-driven recycling solutions for silicon-bearing PV waste streams, with a focus on recovering valuable materials from end-of-life solar and translating process development into industrial reality.

Focus Areas

Our Research Focus

Silicon Recovery from Solar Residues

We develop and refine process routes to recover silicon-bearing fractions from end-of-life PV materials and related recycling streams.

Separation of Silicon and Silver

A key research objective is improving the separation of silicon and silver in silicon-rich powder fractions generated during recycling.

Industrial Scale-Up

Our work is geared toward practical implementation, connecting process development with industrial application and scale-up.

Featured Project

LIFE SiRCULAR

Circular Silicon is a project partner in LIFE SIRCULAR, an EU-funded project focused on industrial recycling solutions for silicon and silver from end-of-life photovoltaic panels.

Why It Matters

Closing a critical gap in PV recycling

Conventional PV recycling often focuses on readily recoverable fractions, while silicon-bearing materials remain underutilised. Circular Silicon addresses this gap by developing solutions for waste streams that still contain significant material value and by helping move their recovery closer to industrial reality.
