About Us

Silicon is an indispensable raw material for our society: As an alloying element, in chemical products or in solar cells and computer chips. Yet production is energy-intensive and associated with indirect and direct CO2 emissions. Our goal is to save CO2 emissions from primary production by recycling silicon waste streams.

Our Story

Circular Silicon was founded in the year 2023 by a group of environmentally conscious engineers and economists, with the goal to build a silicon recycling plant in Europe.

We saw an opportunity to adress the growing issue of solar panel waste while also reducing the demand for low carbon silicon. By developing our own technology, Circular Silicon is able to effectively recylcle and recover silicon from end-of-life panels. We are currently building our first pilot line in Germany and are aiming to establish an industrial line in 2023.

We are also localted in Hong Kong, which offers us a strategic positition to access the Chinese Kerf Waste Market and use the opportunities offered by the government initiative to promote the recycling of PV module waste.

With a strong commitment to reducing waste and promoting sustainable energy, Circular Silicon is at the forefront of the movement towards a greener future.
